Ductwork Alterations & Refurbishment
Alterations, rerouting and replacement of existing systems for fit-outs, refurbishments, extensions and plant replacement.
A large proportion of London commercial work involves existing buildings and existing systems. Alterations require survey, sensible sequencing and an honest assessment of what the existing installation can carry before new branches are added to it.
Survey first
Existing installations are surveyed before pricing where access allows. Duct sizes, condition, routes, existing fire dampers and available capacity are recorded so the proposed alteration is based on the building as it is, not the record drawings.
Working in live buildings
Alterations in occupied offices, retail units and hospitality premises are carried out with agreed isolations, dust and noise control, protection of finishes and full reinstatement. Out-of-hours and phased working is standard.
Plant replacement
Where air handling plant is being replaced, we carry out the associated ductwork modifications — new connections, transitions, attenuator replacement, revised routes and support alterations — programmed around the plant delivery and craneage.
